Bungalow renovation, Wellington

Bungalow Renovation Wellington Case Study Img

What are we up to?

We’re renovating and extending a tired two-bedroom bungalow in Wellington. The property had been left in a poor state, including serious internal water damage caused by a boiler failure. The renovation is for an older couple, so accessibility, safety and comfort are key.

The works include full internal reconfiguration, asbestos removal from the roof, and a new extension to improve layout and usability. Once complete, the bungalow will benefit from a spacious lounge, larger bedrooms, a new utility area, and a purpose-built disability bathroom. We’re also addressing external access to make the property easier to get in and out of.

How are we doing it?

We’re managing the project on a fixed-price basis, giving the client peace of mind around costs from day one. Our team is handling everything from early surveys and design layouts through to planning, asbestos remediation and day-to-day contractor coordination.

This is a highly personal project, and we’re working closely with the clients and their family to make sure every detail meets their long-term needs. This includes mobility access to practical layout changes.

What’s the latest?

We’re currently at the costing and design stage. Initial layout drawings are under review, and we’re working through specification details before finalising the programme.

We’re moving carefully and clearly, giving the clients time to make informed decisions while keeping things progressing behind the scenes.

What the client says

We’ve felt very looked after. Everything’s been explained clearly, and it’s reassuring to know there’s a plan for every step. It’s already a big weight off our shoulders.
