The brief

The client commissioned a contemporary single-storey extension that would transform their small cottage into a home suited to 21st century living. The brief required a bold modern design that sits comfortably alongside the existing structure, bridging the gap between the period cottage and contemporary functionality.

Our approach

The design challenge on Project Rose Cottage is balancing period charm with modern living standards. We’re working alongside our architecture partners to create a design that feels both fresh, coherent and delivers a modern living space that respects the context of the original cottage. This project demonstrates our versatility whether heritage restoration or contemporary design interventions.

Progress and outcomes

Site works started in June 2026 with an eight-week completion programme. These demands coordinated project management and clear communication between all parties. Project Rose showcases our ability to create genuinely modern spaces that work for the way people live today, whilst maintaining sensitivity to the existing building’s character. Watch this space!
